Campaign idea: Zain is building a future in fashion
After his asylum claim was refused, Zain was left without support. Now he is building creative skills to pursue a fashion degree.
This story
After seeking asylum in the UK in 2018, Zain had his claim refused, leaving him evicted with no right to work or access to public funds. He moved in with a host in Cardiff and learned English while preparing the next steps on his case with his solicitor. Through support workers, he joined an arts community, began learning clothing printing with a local artist, and started volunteering at a creative hub to prepare for studying fashion at university.
