After fleeing abuse and sleeping rough, Tony found steady support and moved into a permanent home.
This story
Tony arrived in Brighton in 2023 after fleeing domestic abuse, slept rough for two weeks, and struggled with loneliness, anxiety and addiction. Through Justlife's Social Connection Project, he joined a peer support group and met regularly with a volunteer befriender for walks and coffee. In 2025, he moved into a permanent home and is now exploring learning and volunteering opportunities to support others.
