Stephen faced a £2,000 energy debt while living in a damp home without a cooker, washing machine or family support, and had not seen a doctor for around 35 years. A visiting adviser took time to listen and helped him contact adult social care, obtain doctor registration forms and learn to manage his utility bills. With that support, Stephen began engaging with services, received a food bank referral and paid off his energy debt.
