Campaign idea: Shelley got her freedom back
Frequent dislocations left Shelley isolated at home. Partnering with assistance dog Meikle gave her back her independence.
This story
Living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome caused Shelley to dislocate joints with minimal movement, leaving her reliant on family and a wheelchair. She regained her confidence with her first assistance dog, Kibble, who supported her for a decade before retiring and dying. In 2024, Shelley was partnered with Meikle, a yellow Labrador who now helps her manage daily routines and go out safely.
