Forced to step away from his regular work after a cancer diagnosis, Robert began handcrafting nesting boxes for local conservation projects. After a social media post sparked widespread interest, he built and personally installed over 50 custom boxes across Cumbria for Tawny, Barn, and Little Owls. The project provides vital nesting spots where mature hollow trees are scarce, and Robert is continuing to build and install new batches.
