After losing his mother and navigating cerebral palsy, Reuben turned to rap and poetry to build an independent life.
This story
Reuben has cerebral palsy in both legs and was raised by his single mother, who died while he was studying for his GCSEs. He channelled his grief and anger into music and writing, using rap battles and lyricism to process what he felt. He later moved into an independent living flat, became a published poet, and went on to university.
