Campaign idea: Phil got his independence back
A rare illness took Phil's mobility. With assistance dog Cooper, he rebuilt his life.
This story
While serving in Afghanistan as a Royal Marine Commando, Phil contracted Q Fever, which caused severe muscle weakness, fatigue and organ damage that left him reliant on a wheelchair. In 2016, he was partnered with assistance dog Cooper, who helps him with daily tasks and getting outdoors. Phil went on to win a World Championship medal in Paralympic shooting and designed an advanced powered wheelchair.
