Campaign idea: Peyman built a new life in Oxford

Peyman arrived in the UK alone at sixteen and faced homelessness before securing leave to remain twelve years later.

This story

In 2007, sixteen-year-old Peyman arrived in Oxford alone after his father was killed in Iran. His asylum claim was refused and after turning eighteen he lost support and ended up sleeping on the streets. A local family took him in while Asylum Welcome provided legal help, courses and daily essentials until he was granted Leave to Remain in 2019. He continues to volunteer at the centre while working towards his goal of becoming an engineer.
