After a severe heart infection stopped her from running, Melissa is training for the London Marathon for the charity where she works.

Melissa completed her first marathon five years ago, but two years ago a severe heart infection forced her to stop exercising completely. After a long recovery rebuilding her physical and mental health, she secured a London Marathon ballot spot on her eighth try. She is taking on the race to support Valley House, the domestic abuse charity where she works.
