Growing up bi-laterally deaf in a mining town, Manukai held onto music and is now developing his own sound.
This story
A Mancunian raised in the South West, Manukai spent his formative years bi-laterally deaf and faced stereotypes growing up Blasian in a mining town. Throughout that time, his constant goal was to create and perform music. He has now been chosen for an emergent artist bursary and development programme to create new work.
