In 2023, Lisa was widowed when her husband Alan died by suicide, leaving her to raise three young children in Glasgow. To process her loss, she began sharing her experiences online through The Widow Diaries, speaking openly about mental health and bereavement. She has since spoken publicly about suicide prevention and completed her debut novel.
