After childcare costs forced Leila to leave her hospital job, she volunteered to guide other parents and now leads the service.
This story
As an immigrant with two young children, Leila had to leave her hospital job because of childcare costs and found the UK early education system unfamiliar. She joined a volunteer scheme in Lewisham in 2018 to support other isolated parents navigating childcare entitlements. After completing an apprenticeship, she became an outreach officer and now coordinates the volunteer team.
