John ran his twelfth marathon at eighty. After chemotherapy, he is back on the towpath aiming for another.
This story
After losing his wife of 47 years, John took his doctor's advice and met a companion on the internet who shares his love of the outdoors. He ran his twelfth London marathon on his eightieth birthday, having also had surgery for prostate cancer in 2005. Having recently finished chemotherapy, he now walks canal towpaths with a stick to keep fit and aims to run another marathon.
