On the day Jarryd signed a contract for his West End debut in We Will Rock You, he learned he had a tumour in his left lung. He underwent surgeries, including the removal of half his lung and treatment for persistent complications, while receiving support from Actors' Trust. Now cancer-free, he is focusing on healing and rebuilding his strength.
