Campaign idea: James is trekking across the Sahara
After losing his mum Lis, James is heading into the Sahara Desert to trek up to 18 kilometres a day in her memory.
This story
After James's mum Lis died in January 2026, hospice staff cared for her and supported the family until the end. To honour her love of extreme walks and give something back to the hospice, James signed up for a four-day challenge in the Sahara Desert in March 2027. He plans to camp and cover up to 18 kilometres each day across the sand.
