Campaign idea: James found his independence again
A fall left James paralysed, but assistance dogs helped him rebuild his independence and start a new chapter.
This story
While dismantling an ash tree, James fell and sustained a severe head injury, two broken vertebrae and paralysis from the chest down. His first assistance dog, Winter, gave him the practical support and confidence to re-engage with the world before she retired and died. In 2023, he was partnered with Dawn, and through that training course he met his partner, Jess.
