After his daughter Lily spent Christmas in hospital with pneumonia, Ian set out to tackle twelve Ironman-distance triathlons in twelve months.

Ian's daughter Lily has received specialist hospital care for more than three years. In December 2025, a severe flare-up caused a punctured lung and pneumonia, keeping the family in hospital over Christmas. Moved by the care they received, Ian set out to complete twelve Ironman-distance triathlons over twelve months to give back.
