This story
Gita was trafficked into the UK and forced to work as an unpaid maid from the age of five, facing routine abuse. At fifteen, she escaped and lived on the streets before entering care. With help from her local Law Centre, she applied for refugee status, gained recognition as a victim of trafficking, and is beginning to build a new life.
