After seven months in hospital with a brain injury, Genevieve adapted her artistic practice to help others connect with nature.
This story
Genevieve spent seven consecutive months in hospital in 2022 and 2023 for neurosurgery and rehabilitation, leaving her with sensory loss on her left side from right-sided brain damage. While recovering in bed, she began developing sensory creative activities using simple materials and memory. She is now using those methods to co-lead sessions exploring nature and chronic illness with a collective of disabled artists.
