After years in foster care and supported housing, Derek passed his military assessments and is preparing to join the Royal Navy.
This story
Derek entered foster care at thirteen and moved into supported accommodation at nineteen after family relationships broke down. While living there, he completed college qualifications in Uniformed Services, English, and Maths. He then passed the interviews, fitness tests, and medical assessments needed to pursue his childhood dream of joining the Royal Navy.
