Campaign idea: Dana is back in the classroom
After viral encephalitis put Dana into intensive care, she spent years rebuilding her life to return to teaching.
This story
In May 2020, viral encephalitis changed Dana's life, leading to seizures, intensive care and serious complications. She experienced sensory overload and memory loss during the long process of brain recovery to rebuild her independence. Six years later, she is back teaching part-time.
