After losing her hearing overnight, Corinne lived in fear until hearing dog Penny helped her sleep safely again.

In May 2021, Corinne lost hearing in her right ear overnight and was diagnosed with Ménière’s disease. Terrified of sleeping through the nighttime alarms for her son's type 1 diabetes, she stopped leaving the house and barely slept for three years. Since being matched with hearing dog Penny, who alerts her to sounds and alarms, Corinne can sleep without fear and has regained her independence.
