Connor was non-verbal and overwhelmed by guessing games. A communication device revealed he could spell.
This story
Connor is 13, non-verbal, and has autism and complex needs. When picture cards were no longer enough to express his thoughts, he experienced distressing meltdowns and hurt himself out of frustration. After trialling a speech device at school that uncovered his emerging spelling skills, he received his own device to communicate at home.
