Campaign idea: Casey became Birmingham Poet Laureate
Casey skipped English lessons in school before turning his lyrics around and becoming Birmingham Poet Laureate.
This story
Casey stopped grime MCing at nineteen after realising his lyrics about violence were having a negative impact on his surroundings. He returned to writing at twenty-two while running a school rap and poetry club for disengaged students. He went on to become Birmingham Poet Laureate and perform on concert hall stages, while also working as an assistant headteacher.
