In 2023, Carol's 83-year-old mother spent her final week receiving palliative care at a hospice in Leeds. After taking time to grieve, Carol wanted to give back and joined the hospice as a catering volunteer in November 2024. She now works full Monday shifts preparing meals, serving patients, and making tea for visiting families.
