Campaign idea: Carla turned surplus food into meals
After being furloughed, former chef Carla began cooking free meals from surplus food and built a whole new career.
This story
Her father had experienced homelessness as a child and relied on food banks, which led Carla to volunteer after being furloughed from her cheffing job. She began preparing weekly meals using surplus ingredients for people who needed food and company. Four and a half years on, she volunteers across several projects and works as a volunteer coordinator for a food charity.
