After discovering his late mum was adopted as a child, Billy is preparing to walk 95 miles along her early life's path.
This story
In late 2025, Billy learned that his mum, Violet, who died in 2019, had been adopted at age three and had never told her family. He discovered she was born near Nairn and moved to Fort William after spending time in a children's home. In April 2027, Billy plans to walk the 95-mile journey between the two houses to honour her story.
