In 2018, at 22 years of age, Bernadette was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that led to her right leg being amputated. She co-founded Wrapsthetic to help amputees and wheelchair users express themselves. Today she produces colourful, customised wraps for prosthetics and mobility aids.
