Campaign idea: Ben gave up opera for social work
Ben gave up a career in opera to retrain as a mental health social worker supporting people in crisis.
This story
After working as an opera singer, Ben retrained through a specialist mental health social work programme. Two years on, he works in a specialist social care team alongside NHS staff, helping keep people safe and advocating for their rights. He is now applying for advanced training to help assess whether people need hospital care under mental health laws.
