Campaign idea: Amanda found independence with Chris
After an injury ended her police career, Amanda reclaimed her independence with the help of her support dog Chris.
This story
Amanda was injured in the line of duty as a police officer at 29, and later developed lupus and had a stroke at 38. She now uses a wheelchair and works as a case worker. Partnered with her support dog Chris, a red labrador, she navigates train commutes, work and daily life.
