In the late 1990s, health issues made it difficult for Amanda to work, leaving her facing financial strain. After a home visit from an adviser helped her claim disability benefits, she regained stability. She later trained as a volunteer with the same service, before qualifying as a debt adviser and taking on a paid role supporting clients.
