Campaign idea: Adam is rebuilding his independence
After fleeing an attempt on his life in El Salvador, Adam is rebuilding his independence and training for new work in Sunderland.
This story
Adam fled El Salvador in 2019 after his identity as a high security prison officer was exposed, leading to a targeted attempt on his life. After moving between Derby and Birmingham, he was relocated to Sunderland and joined Emmaus North East in May 2025. He works across the charity's workshops and retail shops, has completed door supervisor training, and is working towards independent living and starting a business.
