Make content about: Edward stepped in to wind the clocks

When an ageing clockmaker could no longer do his rounds, York Clock Group stepped in to keep the city's historic clocks ticking.

This story

In 2011, Edward formed York Clock Group to take over the weekly winding of public and domestic clocks from Geoffrey, whose health was failing. The group took on clocks across the city, including an 1880s turret clock that needs 150 turns of its winding handle every week. Today, members including Mike, John, Andy and Tony maintain clocks across York every Tuesday, keeping local timepieces running by hand.
