Wes grew up in Macclesfield with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and spent thirteen and a half years in and out of prison after starting to use drugs and commit crimes at a young age. After periods of recovery, relapse and family loss, he referred himself for a detox and started volunteering with Shropshire Recovery Partnership, where he now uses his own experience to support others.
