Make content about: Warwickshire Bears became champions

Warwickshire Bears Wheelchair Basketball Club faced high equipment costs that kept young players sidelined, but now their junior teams are national champions.

This story

Founded in 2002, Warwickshire Bears Wheelchair Basketball Club set out to provide inclusive coaching and competition for disabled players. With specialist sports chairs costing £3,000 each, equipment and travel expenses presented a major hurdle for local families. A £60,000 grant allowed the club to buy ten specialist chairs and run weekly sessions for children aged five to 18. Their junior squads have since competed in twelve tournaments, with the under-14s winning the National Junior Championships.

Where you could take it
