Make content about: Vicky had her children screened

Living with type 1 diabetes for decades, Vicky had her children screened and discovered her teenage son is in its earliest stages.

This story

Vicky was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 29 and has managed the condition for nearly two decades. After enrolling her children in antibody screening through research registries, tests showed her 16-year-old son Toby has two autoantibodies, placing him in the early, symptomless stages. While Toby currently has normal blood sugar and requires no treatment, Vicky is using research networks to stay informed about emerging treatments that could delay the condition.
