Umar grew in confidence through sport, captaining a boccia team and playing a key role in a table cricket tournament. He achieved an entry-level physical education qualification across both individual and team activities, and took part in a residential cricket trip. His school continues using adapted activity packs and competitions to help students with complex needs take part in sport.
