Following the breakdown of a relationship, a resident experienced declining mental health, lost confidence and stayed isolated in his flat. With regular support from staff and encouragement from volunteers on an outdoor project, he began spending time in the communal outdoor space. He learned basic gardening skills, started chatting with other residents, and now volunteers to water the garden and support its upkeep.
