Make content about: She protested UK detention
After surviving a violent attack in Nigeria, an LGBTQI+ asylum seeker was held in UK detention before protesting her treatment.
This story
After being attacked in Nigeria when people discovered she was a lesbian, she fled to the UK around 2006. Her repeated asylum claims were refused, and in 2015 she was held for two months in Yarl's Wood without medical care for her injuries. Following a protest against the conditions, she was released to stay with a friend, but continues to fear being detained again.
