Make content about: He rebuilt his life as an interpreter
Held at gunpoint on a forced-labour farm, he escaped and rebuilt his life as a certified interpreter in Northern Ireland.
This story
Orphaned as a child in Africa, he was lured into agricultural slavery and held at gunpoint before escaping late at night through an unlocked door. After walking hundreds of miles and claiming asylum in Northern Ireland, he received medical care for PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Now granted refugee status, he works full-time, lives in private rental accommodation, and works as a qualified interpreter supporting other ethnic minorities.
