Make content about: A designer turned one machine into jobs
A former fashion designer returned to Lancashire with one sewing machine and built an enterprise training and employing local people.
This story
After working in high-end fashion, the founder returned to Lancashire to help boost confidence and wellbeing through sewing. Starting with one domestic machine in an empty room, they secured manufacturing contracts and launched an intensive training programme. The enterprise now employs nine staff in Skelmersdale, manufactures energy-saving thermal cooking bags, and helps trainees move into jobs.
