Make content about: Sofia is building a life as an artist

Forced from home after coming out as trans, Sofia found safe housing and is building a future as an artist.

This story

After her family searched her room and discovered makeup and feminine clothing, Sofia was forced to leave home and spent months sofa surfing and staying in temporary shelters. She found safe supported accommodation in Manchester, where she revived her passions for fencing, salsa dancing, and digital character illustration. Now taking commissions and helping shape services for other young people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or trans, she is preparing to move into a place of her own.
