Make content about: Sheila rebuilt her life by the canal

After a violent mugging left Sheila trapped inside for years, volunteering along canal towpaths helped her reclaim her life.

This story

A severe mugging left Sheila with post-traumatic stress disorder, severe anxiety and heart problems that required a pacemaker. Unable to leave her house alone for years, she began therapy and joined a local group where she was invited to try volunteering on the canal. Working outdoors on towpath repairs and litter picks helped restore her confidence, eventually leading her to fly to Canada to meet her new grandson.
