Make content about: Sean turned his mental health around

Severe anxiety once left Sean struggling to get through the week. Volunteering and upcycling charity shop donations helped turn his mental health around.

This story

Sean dealt with severe anxiety from childhood and spent years working as a hairdresser in London. After visiting Emmaus Cambridge with his mother, he began volunteering twice a week, sorting through items that would otherwise be thrown away to create imaginative retail displays. Today, he feels in the best place he has ever been with his mental health while supporting the charity's companions.

Where you could take it

Visit Sean at the shop to look through his store cupboard of unusual donations and see how he designs a new display.
