Sarah was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 11, but her blood sugar remained uncontrolled for nine years until doctors discovered she was resistant to insulin. After visiting her doctor for what she thought was a water infection, she found out she had stage three chronic kidney disease. She now campaigns for earlier detection and offers emotional and practical support to young kidney patients in Manchester.
