Sam started learning Makaton at a choir in York and used it while working in retail to help a family communicate. During lockdown, she and support worker Matteo hosted an online session that inspired them to launch a YouTube channel. She now regularly films tutorials at a media centre in York, aiming to teach in schools and colleges.
