In Iran, Sam worked as an electrical engineer, but after moving to the UK as a refugee he struggled to find work. Unable to afford a computer or internet access, he grew isolated, depressed, and cut off from family. After visiting a local digital hub, he received a laptop and data connection, learned English, and joined online classes to work towards qualifying as an engineer in the UK.
