Make content about: Sadat won cheaper bus travel

After fleeing Afghanistan for the UK, Sadat became a community leader campaigning for affordable travel for asylum seekers.

This story

Sadat worked in government economic policy in Afghanistan before fleeing to the UK when the Taliban took power in 2021. Living on a weekly allowance of nine pounds, a return bus journey cost too much and he lacked the right identification for travel support. He joined Sufra to organise for discounted fares, testifying before London politicians and winning changes to accepted identification rules.
