Make content about: River protects a local chalk stream
River Meon Conservation Volunteers are protecting their local chalk stream, surveying returning water voles and clearing invasive plants along the banks.
This story
River Meon Conservation Volunteers received a grant of over £1,900 to buy equipment to monitor water voles, otters and river flies. The twelve regular volunteers carry out water quality checks, pull invasive plants and track how reintroduced water voles are faring. Their camera footage and wildlife records feed directly back to national park rangers.
Where you could take it
