Make content about: Omotola is speaking out on Parkinson's

Diagnosed with Parkinson's at 35, Omotola is speaking out to find other African women living with the condition.

This story

Omotola grew up in Nigeria and was told by a specialist that her age, gender and ethnicity made Parkinson's unlikely before being diagnosed at 35. As the condition progressed, she lost the dexterity to braid her daughter's hair and prepare staple meals like amala and fufu for her family. Now living in the UK, she is sharing her experience to encourage other African women with Parkinson's to connect and make their voices heard.

Where you could take it

Meet with Omotola to talk through how Parkinson's affects daily family life and her search for other African women living with the condition.
